One Day Stakeholders’ Consultation and Panel Discussion on Law and Medicine" by NLUJ (in collaboration with AIIMS, Jodhpur) to be held on 11th April, 2026.

National Law University, Jodhpur and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur are jointly organising “One Day Stakeholders’ Consultation and Panel Discussion on Law and Medicine: Strengthening Interdisciplinary Dialogue on Legal Regulation of Medical Science and Research” on 11th April, 2026 (Saturday). The program is scheduled to be conducted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Jodhpur Campus.

The recent advancements in the field of medical science, biotechnology, digital health technologies and biomedical research have transformed the healthcare systems across the globe. These advancements have led to the emergence of complex legal , ethical and regulatory issues in context of patient rights, clinical research governance and regulation, medical negligence and liability, data protection and privacy concerns, intellectual property in healthcare innovations, claims relating to consumer protection, as well as emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence in diagnosis and medicine.  Recognising the need for such interdisciplinary dialogue in view of these developments, both the institutions aim to create a platform where stakeholders from legal, technological and medical domain can deliberate on legal challenges in the healthcare sector and biomedical research.
The program comprises two technical sessions on the themes: MedTech Regulations and Medicine & Intellectual Property, along with a Panel Discussion on Legal and Ethical concerns surrounding Euthanasia in view of recent judicial developments.
