“Exploring Child Rights via the Lens of Human Rights”

The Valedictory Ceremony of the ITEC Special Training Programme on “Exploring Child Rights via the Lens of Human Rights” was held on 07th February 2026 at National Law University, Jodhpur, marking the successful conclusion of the two-week programme conducted from 25th January to 07th February 2026.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) and brought together participants from 11 countries, including Fiji, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Eswatini, Mongolia, Ghana, Syria, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Moldova.
The Valedictory Ceremony commenced with a welcome address, followed by the presentation of the programme report highlighting the academic sessions, thematic lectures, interactive discussions, virtual expert sessions, and field visits conducted during the programme. As part of the ceremony, participants screened short reflective videos on their learning experience and professional engagement during the programme.
A notable segment of the ceremony included video presentations by two participants from Syria, who showcased the work being undertaken by them and expressed their interest in initiatives aimed at preventing child begging and tracing missing children. Following the screening of these videos, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of international cooperation and academic exchange in addressing child rights concerns.
During the feedback session, participants commended the University for its warm hospitality, the academic depth of the programme, and the quality of interaction with the faculty members. Several participants noted that the programme enhanced their understanding of child rights from a human rights perspective and would inform their future professional engagement.
The ceremony also featured the distribution of certificates and mementos to the participants by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar, Dr. Sunita Pankaj, recognising their successful completion of the programme.
The Valedictory Ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a group photograph and lunch. The programme reinforced the University’s commitment to capacity building, international collaboration, and the promotion of child rights through legal education.
