MoU Signing Ceremony between NLUJ and Dinesh Vyas Public Charitable Trust

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between National Law University, Jodhpur and Dinesh Vyas Public Charitable Trust was held at the National Law University, Jodhpur on 7th February, 2026 with the objective of formalising a collaborative initiative aimed at supporting students and advancing social and educational upliftment. The ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Registrar Dr. Sunita Pankaj, esteemed members of the Trust- Ms. Kunti A. Jhaveri and Mr. Jehan A. Jhaveri, faculty members, and university officials.

The programme commenced with the opening remarks by Dr. Ashish Saraswat who formally initiated the MoU signing ceremony and set the tone for the event. Following this, Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Dean (Academics), delivered the welcome address. In his address, he emphasised the University’s unwavering commitment towards students, particularly in ensuring equity, inclusivity, and academic excellence. He spoke about the University’s efforts to create a supportive academic environment and expressed sincere appreciation for the continued support extended by the Dinesh Vyas Public Trust, alumni and other organisations. He acknowledged that alumni engagement plays a crucial role in strengthening institutional values and opportunities for students.

Thereafter, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor addressed the gathering and extended a warm welcome to the trustees. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Trust for taking this meaningful initiative and observed that only a few individuals and organisations come forward to actively support universities in a sustained manner. She highlighted that National Law University, Jodhpur is not merely an institution imparting quality legal education but is deeply committed to the holistic development of students and society at large. In her address, the Vice-Chancellor elaborated on the University’s initiatives that extend beyond academics, touching various aspects of social life. She spoke about the University’s engagement in rural upliftment, women empowerment, and its efforts towards supporting marginalised communities. She also highlighted initiatives undertaken by the University to assist elderly persons, reflecting the institution’s broader social responsibility. She conveyed her sincere and heartfelt thanks to the Trust, acknowledging that its support would be of immense benefit to students.

 The ceremony then proceeded with addresses from the members of the Trust. Mr. Jishan A. Jhaveri, representing the Trust, shared his personal connection with the University and stated that it was deeply fulfilling to give back to his alma mater. He remarked that his professional journey and achievements were shaped by the institution, motivating him and the Trust to contribute not only to the present initiative but also to future endeavours of the University. He further appreciated the seamless and efficient process involved in finalising the MoU, specifically acknowledging the efforts of the University’s Scholarship Committee for their cooperation and support. Subsequently, Ms. Kunti A. Jhaveri addressed the gathering and expressed her happiness in entering into the MoU with the University. She stated that the Trust’s commitment would go beyond financial assistance and would extend towards supporting needy students in meaningful ways. She also expressed her interest in exploring future collaborations with the University, particularly for initiatives aimed at access to quality health services and social upliftment.

Following the addresses, Dr. Ashish Saraswat invited the Honourable Vice-Chancellor and the esteemed members of the Trust to formally sign the Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU was signed in the presence of the dignitaries, marking a significant milestone in the collaborative relationship between the University and the Trust. After the signing ceremony, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor Ma’am presented mementos to the members of the Trust as a token of appreciation and gratitude for their support and association with the University.

The ceremony then moved towards its conclusion with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manisha Mirdha, Dean (Students’ Welfare). In her address, she expressed sincere gratitude to the members of the Trust, highlighting how their support would positively impact students. She also thanked the Honourable Vice-Chancellor Ma’am for her visionary leadership, the Registrar Ma’am for her invaluable cooperation, and acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the Scholarship Committee and the university staff for their consistent support. The MoU Signing Ceremony concluded on a warm and positive note with a group photograph, capturing the momentous occasion and symbolising the spirit of collaboration and shared commitment towards student welfare and social development.
