NLUJ and IISD Sign MoU to Advance Legal Research and Policy Development in Law and Sustainable Development

[New Delhi, 23rd May 2025] - National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to foster collaboration in legal research, policy advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives in the field of sustainable development. The signing ceremony took place in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in academic partnerships for sustainable development.

Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor of NLUJ, stated, "This collaboration marks a significant step towards integrating legal scholarship with sustainable development goals. We are excited to work with IISD to create meaningful impact through research and policy interventions." She further added, "This partnership will provide our students and faculty with invaluable opportunities to engage in global sustainability discourse."

The MoU will facilitate offering diploma and degree programmes in environmental laws and sustainable development, joint research projects, workshops, seminars strengthening the interface between law and sustainable development. Both institutions are committed to promoting innovative solutions for a sustainable future through this strategic alliance.
