NLUJ-PFMTI Two-Day Training Programme on Contract Drafting and Management System Successfully Concludes

The National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ), in collaboration with the Public Financial Management and Training Institute (PFMTI), Jaipur, Government of Rajasthan, successfully concluded a two-day capacity building programme on Contract Drafting and Contract Management System, held on May 21–22, 2025 at the University campus.

This training programme was focused on contract drafting, smart contracts, and government procurement, aiming to enhance the legal and operational acumen of government officials. A total of 42 officers from various significant departments of the Government of Rajasthan—such as the Education, Public Works, Medical, Electricity, and Public Health Engineering Departments—participated in the event.

The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, NLUJ, who emphasized the importance of contract management, particularly for government functionaries. She highlighted that the training was designed with a practical approach, addressing real-world challenges faced in day-to-day contract management.

A special session was delivered by Hon’ble Justice Vineet Kothari, former Acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, who spoke on the importance of timely resolution of commercial disputes to ensure swift justice and minimize systemic delays.

The programme also featured expert sessions by distinguished legal professionals and academicians including Mr. Tarun Jain, Advocate, Supreme Court; NLUJ Faculty Members Professor Shilohu Rao; Dr. Bipin Kumar; Dr. Anand Kumar Singh; and Dr. R.K. Purohit, who shared valuable insights and practical experiences with the participants.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Sunita Pankaj, RAS, Registrar, NLUJ, distributed certificates of participation and expressed gratitude to the attendees for their active involvement. She also reiterated the University’s commitment to organizing similar capacity building programmes in the future.  Dr. Neeti Mathur, Nodal Officer Training, conducted an in-depth review of participants' feedback to refine and further improve future training initiatives. The event marked a significant step in strengthening institutional capacities in legal and financial governance across Rajasthan.
