Caretaker Sensitization Program for Addressing Student Needs

On 28th of March, 2025, the Student Welfare Board, National Law University, Jodhpur organized a sensitization program aimed at enhancing the empathy and effectiveness of caretakers in addressing student needs. The initiative sought to equip caretakers with the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to handle diverse student concerns with sensitivity and professionalism. The program included interactive session focused on communication skills, conflict resolution, gender sensitivity, mental health awareness, and the importance of fostering a safe and inclusive campus environment. Through these sessions, the initiative aimed to build a more understanding and responsive support system for students, contributing to a healthier campus culture. Ms. Puja Jain, the University Counselor, emphasized the importance of thoughtful communication, warning that insensitivity during difficult times can deeply affect students. She also guided caretakers on how to offer support in a more compassionate and respectful manner, while giving students the space they need to heal and recover. Dr. Manisha Mirdha, Dean Students’ Welfare, and Mr. Malik, Deputy Registrar, emphasized the shared responsibility of the administration and caretakers as guardians of student well-being. They stressed the importance of remaining vigilant to signs of distress and ensuring students' safety and emotional health at all times.
