Constitution Day is a celebration of the values that define us as a nation—justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. It is a day to reflect on the vision of the framers of our Constitution and to honor the ideals that continue to guide us. As we commemorate this historic occasion, we are reminded of our shared responsibility to uphold the principles that bind us together as a democratic society.
At NLU Jodhpur, we are deeply committed to this cause. Through the efforts of the Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law and the Constitutional Law Society, we strive to keep the spirit of constitutionalism alive. From publishing our journal (CALJ) and organising the annual National Seminar on Constitutionalism in Contemporary Times to hosting thought-provoking guest lectures and informal discussions, we create vibrant spaces where students and scholars across disciplines can engage deeply with pressing constitutional questions and reflect on how these ideals shape our collective future.
This year, we are proud to host the 3rd Intra-University Essay Writing Competition on the theme: “Justice H.R. Khanna: The Conscience Keeper of the Constitution.” Justice Khanna’s legacy, marked by his courage and unwavering commitment to justice, reminds us that the Constitution is not just a document but a living testament to the values we cherish.
On this special day, let us renew our pledge to protect and promote these ideals, ensuring that the Constitution continues to serve as a guiding light for generations to come.
