National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Sydney, Australia, through its Sydney Law School in the month of October 2024. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, National Law University Jodhpur Prof. Harpreet Kaur visited Sydney Law School, Australia as distinguished Professor under the Elizabeth Evatt Distinguished Professor Fellowship at Sydney Law School, Australia. During her visit this MoU was signed at the University of Sydney.
This MoU was signed by Prof. Kaur and Prof. Rita Shackel, Interim Head of School and Dean / Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Sydney Law School. Prof. Kaur believes that this partnership represents a significant step towards internationalising NLUJ’s academic offerings and strengthening its ties with one of Australia’s leading universities.
This MoU will foster cooperation through various activities such as organizing joint conferences, short courses, and seminars to facilitate research and academic exchange and co-publishing articles and conducting joint research. It will also help in exploring pathways for NLUJ and Sydney Law School students to engage in higher degree research. In terms of faculty exchange, it will promote teaching, training, and research collaboration.
Through this MoU, NLUJ aims to expand its global footprint, enhance its research capacities, and offer its students and faculty greater exposure to international academic standards.
