University examinations consists of continuous assessment, mid term examination, CRE and end-term examination. The scheme of continuous assessment shall be designed according to needs of teaching-learning process in the course as approved by the Faculty concerned viz. Law / Management / Science / Policy Sciences and will be made known to the students at the beginning of every semester by the teacher concerned.
Promotion Regulations
The promotion to the next semester is regulated in accordance with the university regulations.
Disciplinary Regulations
The National Law University, Jodhpur is a residential University and the students are strictly required to follow the Conduct Regulations framed by the university from time to time.
No student shall remain out of campus between 9.00 P.M. and 8.00 A.M. In case, a student intends to go out of campus on weekend or after 9.00 P.M. due to some urgent work, he/she has to seek written permission from his/her Warden. During class-study hours, i.e., from 8.30 A.M. to 5.00 P.M., a student is not allowed to leave the campus unless appropriate reasons for the same are communicated to concerned authority and if such authority permits the same.
Students can gout of campus only 8 times in a month. For which a coupon can be used by the students. If the student want to remain outside the campus later than 9.00 PM then he needs special permission from the Chief Warden. Also for leaving the campus for more than a day the special permission is required by the Chief Warden. Format of coupon is as follows:
Every student shall maintain high standard of peace, tranquility and ideal conduct, cleanliness and discipline in his/her room. No student shall play music at high volume, shout and scream or commit acts of misbehavior with his/her fellow students; every breach shall meet a fine of Rs.1000/- for each breach.
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and would attract disciplinary action and the punishment including the expulsion from the University.
Obscene and indecent behavior shall invite strict disciplinary action including expulsion from the University.
Sexual harassment, or any practice derogatory to human dignity and personal privacy are strictly prohibited. Any one found indulging in such act would be placed before the Committee on sexual harassment of the University for taking immediate, appropriate strong action.
No student shall be permitted to bring personal or private vehicle within the Campus except the bicycle for use within the Campus. Any breach shall meet a fine of Rs.1000/- per day.
Library is maintained and managed in accordance with the rules framed for library. It is mandatory for all students to strictly adhere to the rules, non-compliance shall meet strong disciplinary action.
The Rules of Conduct Regulations are deemed to be known to all students of the University.
Attendance Regulations
The students are required to attend the minimum 75% attendance of the total number of classes held in each of the subjects/courses, moot court exercises in a semester. No student shall be eligible to appear in the end-term examination who does not comply with the attendance regulation.
Deemed attendance regulations
The student claiming deemed attendance has to submit an application in the prescribed proforma to the concerned authority (Chairman Examination, Moot Court, Academic Support, Sports and Cultural Committees and Director, Legal Aid Cell) prior to the absence from the class. The deemed attendance can be claimed on the following grounds.
Representing University in Moot Court Competition
Paper Presentation in Seminar/ Workshop/ Conference
Participation in Legal Aid Camps
Representing the University in Sports/athletic meets
The deemed attendance shall not exceed 15 days of attendance per semester including the travel time, if any. In exceptional circumstances, travel time of maximum 5 days per semester may be sanctioned by the Vice Chancellor if the Vice Chancellor deems it fit.
Students shall not be entitled for any deemed attendance for the period of internship training.
Students who are re-registered in any subject shall not be eligible for representing the University in any Moot Court Competition, Seminars, Workshop/Conference participation/paper presentation and Legal Aid Camp/Sports and athletic meets.
Deemed attendance will be given for the paper presenter only (only one of the coauthors will be entitled deemed attendance).
No participation entitling for deemed attendance shall be permitted if it clashes with any examination of the University.
In case of any student falling short of attendance in any course in a semester, he/she has to be readmitted/re-registered in the same semester for all the papers.
Hall of residence regulations
It is mandatory for all students to strictly adhere to the rules framed for halls of residence, mess and extra-curricular activities in the campus. Indulgence in political activities is strictly forbidden for the students. Involvement of any student in any political activity inside the campus shall warrant expulsion from the University.
No student shall remain outside University after 9 P.M. unless he/she has the written permission from the authorized authority.
Students reporting to Campus after 9 P.M. without written permission shall be fined Rs.500/- for each violation by the Chief Warden.
Students shall refrain from loitering in and around Halls of Residence, Students Welfare Center and Playground. Defaulter shall pay fine of Rs.500 as directed by the Warden and any other person authorized by the Vice-Chancellor.
All Student-Residents shall report to their respective Halls of Residence by 10.30 P.M. positively. No inter-hostel movement after 10.30 P.M. shall be allowed. Any unauthorized inter-hostel movement by any student is punishable with fine of Rs.500/- each violation.
All fines imposed shall be deposited with the Accounts Section within 24 hours of the passing of the order of imposition of fine.
Identity card regulations
Every student is required to get the Identity Card issued from the competent authority within the prescribed period of time without which the library facility cannot be availed. The main gate entry and exit is not permissible without identity card.
Others
No student shall be permitted to appear in the end-term examination without seeking 'No-Dues Certificate' from Accounts Section, Library, Photocopier, Mess and other service providers of the University.
The students need to produce to the Chairman, Examination Committee 'No Objection Certificate' from the Unfair Means Committee and Campus Security and Disciplinary Committee, failing which, the result of the student shall not be declared.
