| University offers training program, specialized modular programs and consultancy-research on intellectual property issues. |
| Few of significant training and consultancy initiatives taken by the University are as follows: |
- Organized training program for patent attorneys and engineers with DB Consulting California in year 2002 at Jodhpur. This program was attended by leading law firms of India.
- Organized skill development program in patent drafting for intellectual property researchers and students in year 2004 at Jodhpur with a distinguished Lee & Hayes, Spokane (USA) Law firm attorney.
- A month long programme in intellectual property training, drafting and ,management with DB Consulting California in year 2005 at Jodhpur.

| Under the activities of IPR Chair, we are working to design, organize and implement one-week specific training workshops on intellectual property and on the Enforcement of intellectual property rights. We are also in the process of preparing concept papers and working papers on intellectual property issues such that debate on such paper amongst IPR Practitioners academicians and stakeholders can crate an environment of intellectual property right related thinking and research. |

Establishment of IPR Consultancy Cell |

| University is establishing an IPR Consultancy Cell under MHRD IPR Chair to provide free or at nominal cost research and consultancy support to individuals, industries, Universities, scientific community and courts for recognition and protection of Intellectual Property Rights. The Consultancy cell will also focus on the development of commercial aspects of intellectual property e.g. IP valuation and Management. |
| Creation of Traditional Knowledge Digital Data Base of Western Rajasthan (TKDDBWR): An Innovative Initiative |
Objectives : Western Rajasthan is exceptionally rich in traditional ethnic practices covering a wide spectrum of biodiversity, medicines, agricultural practices, folklore, dying, printing & handicraft etc.
Further, we aim to create a digital database of this traditional knowledge of western Rajasthan. |
Execution Steps : |
- Conduct IPR Sensitization Program in rural areas of western Rajasthan i.e. villages, dhani etc.
- Make a survey in such areas tom identify traditional knowledge sources and practices.
- Develop a questionnaire or form in local language to retrieve the traditional knowledge practiced in the community
- Extract out relevant information from primary data and arrange in proper format
- Digitization of formatted traditional knowledge data and store it in digital data base “TKDDBWR”

| The University has submitted comments and suggestions on legal reforms needed in Patents and trademark law to parliamentary Committee of Rajya Sabha. |
| Further, we are functioning in the area of designing policy framework on suggestive measures in order to get benefits of world wide of intellectual property regime to India and to have a common understanding and awareness of Intellectual Property regime, which suits India socially as well as economically. Two key points under consideration are as follows: |
- Prepare guideline for effective protection of traditional knowledge praxctosed in Western Rajasthan
- Design models of benefit sharing for use and appropriation of Traditional Knowledge.
