The growth in IPR violations has been fueled in part by the spread of enabling technology allowing for simple and low-cost duplication of copyrighted products, as well as by the rise in organized crime groups that smuggle and distribute counterfeit merchandise for profit. This requires updating both the society and the industry, the CIPLAW attempts to fulfill this objective of updation and also suggests the Government on amendments and efficient implementation of IP in India. CIP monitors design and dissemination of various courses and programmes at National Law University, Jodhpur pertaining to intellectual property rights training and research
Function of the Centre is as follows:
1. To oversee the functions and activities of the MHRD IPR Chair.
2. To promote research and studies in the field of IPR.
3. To organize seminar, conference and symposium etc. in the field of IPR.
