The Moot Court Committee at the National Law University, Jodhpur embodies the indefeasible passion for mooting that the University cherishes as its own. Apart from maintaining a strong internal mooting structure, the Committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of hosting annually, the M.M. Singhvi Memorial Bar Council of India International Law Moot Court Competition. To this extent, the Committee is proud to find itself associated in the organization of one amongst the only two Moot Courts in India to sport the Bar Council of India banner.
At the University level, the Committee busies itself twice every year in conducting the bi-annual University Intra Moot Court Competition, a Competition which forms the basis of selecting students to represent the University at both National and International Competitions. Although the format used thus far as proven to be largely successful, the Committee has been in the process of brainstorming to change it into an even more comprehensive system.
The Committee has also undertaken to educate the fresher batch every year regarding the nuances of mooting, conducting at the start of the year a three day detailed orientation programme and at the end of their first semester, a competitive inter-section fresher Moot Court Competition.
Given the extra-ordinary amounts of preparatory work that goes into organizing each event, specially the International Law Moot Court Competition, which has seen teams from parts of the world, the Committee is an ever bustling centre of activity, and is without wonder, a coveted committee to be in.
