Dr. Gargi Chakrabarti is Associate Professor, Coordinator Govt. of India Chair on IPR, Coordinator UGC-GIAN Project, National Law University, Jodhpur. She has awarded PhD in Intellectual Property Law from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and MPhil from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She has more than nine years of teaching and research experience. She was earlier Assistant Professor in NLU Jodhpur and in School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore and was Research Associate, MHRD Chair on IPR, National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Her areas of interest include Intellectual Property Law, Cyber Law, Competition Law and Environment Law. Her achievements includes (1) participating UNDP-GEF ABS Project, (2) heading Science & Heritage Research Initiative (SHRI) in Rajasthan with Dept of Science & Technology, Govt. of Rajasthan – initiative for GI of Rajasthan, (3) participated in 13th Colloquium for Teachers of Intellectual Property organized by the WIPO & WTO in Geneva in 2016, (4) Visiting Scholar to School of Law, University of Washington in 2015, and (5) WIPRO Earthian Prize winner in 2015.
Her participation in international projects include, (i) International University of Washington – Google Project on Intermediary Liability, where her research topics were Intermediary Liability on Hate Speech and Intermediary Liability on Child Protection in 2015 and (ii) Case Book Writing Project of ARICALA: Chapter 7 – Choice of Jurisdiction and Law in Cross-border Copyright Litigation, Case book Annotated Leading Copyright Cases in Major Asian Economies, to be published in 2018-2019 by Applied Research Centre for Intellectual Assets and the Law in Asia (ARCIALA), Singapore Management University. She has 25 national and international publications in her credit, and she is extending her research support to provide policy advice to Government of India and Government of Rajasthan.
