Justice N.N. Mathur represents a unique combination of lawyer, judge and academician. He specializes in Constitution, Arbitration and Procedural Laws. He has provided meaningful inputs in exposing students to practical facets of legal profession in his class-room teaching. Prior to foray into academics (2007), he was a distinguished lawyer and Judge of superior courts (Rajasthan and Gujarat High Court). With 37 years professional experience and since his first entry in the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India (1982), he has made phenomenal contribution in development of legal education in the country. He has earned reputation for being an astute administrator and a reformist disciplinarian. In his scholarly pursuits in academics, his book titled, “Right to Information” has been published. He has acquired global structure through publication of articles and lectures. He has travelled to Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Nepal, South Africa, Germany, Canada, U.S.A., Russia in his academic pursuits.  He has been appointed as Visiting Professor for three years by Ural State Law Academy, Russia. He is a member of National Legal Services Authority.  He is also the convenor of CLAT 2012.

Formerly, he was the Professor of Law and Dean, Faculty of Law, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He was also a fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla and member of the H.P. Human Rights Commission. His area of specialization is Administrative Law. He guided research at the post graduate and doctoral level and has published extensively in various law journals. His book on Administrative Law is a very popular authoritative text.

He is Professor in the Faculty of Science at National Law University, Jodhpur. He has more than 48 years of teaching experience in various Universities. He holds the degrees of Ph. D. and D. Sc. in Chemistry. He has been a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Oxford, U.K..  His extensive research work includes publication of more than 250 papers in international journals and various review articles. He has guided more than 40 research scholars with their Ph.D. degrees. He has undertaken 12 major research projects sponsored by central agencies. Dr. Banerji won Chancellor’s Gold Medal, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, for securing highest marks in M.Sc. Examination. He chaired sessions in various seminars & conferences and delivered invited lectures at various national & international organisations. Dr. Banerji has received many awards including Fellowship of International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, an affiliate of UNESCO, G.V. Bakore Memorial Award by the Indian Chemical Society in December 2007 for his contribution in the field of Chemicals Kinetics. He is also a fellow of International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and member of many other scientific professional organizations.

Currently, he holds various positions in the university including Executive Director, Center for IPR studies, Dean Students’ Welfare, Dean Faculty of Science, Dean Faculty of Policy Science, Chairperson Journal and Editorial Committee, Chairperson Library Committee etc.  His current interest includes organic chemistry, environmental science and Intellectual Property Rights.

Dr. V. Seshaiah Shasthri is Professor in the Faculty of Law at National Law University, Jodhpur. Having completed LL.M. in International Law during 1989 from the University Law College, Bangalore, he served till 2001 with Dr. T.M. Pai Foundation, Manipal. He joined the National Law University, Jodhpur at the threshold of the University i.e. 2001 as Senior Lecturer. Having been awarded his Ph.D. in “International Humanitarian Law”, he specializes in International Humanitarian Law, Refugee Law and Health Law at NLU, Jodhpur, besides, teaching the courses on Jurisprudence, Legal Methods and Research Methods. Having widely presented papers in various national and international conferences, he has published in journals of national and international repute & edited books from repute national and international publishing houses. Currently, he is the Additional Dean in Faculty of Law and Director of Distance Education (Law Programs). He is also the Chairperson of Centre for Human Rights Education Research and Studies (CHEARS), Centre for Criminal Law Studies (CCLS) and Centre for Legal Aid and Support Services (CLASS).     He also acts as Resource Person in various national and international consultations of organisations like ICRC, UNHCR, UNDP and CHRI.

Mr. K. N. Bhandari a Law Graduate of 1962 from Jodhpur University has served Insurance Industry with distinction for nearly 40 years. He had held top positions in industry including Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the two largest Insurance Companies of India i.e. New India Assurance Company Ltd and The United India Insurance Company Ltd. He was also the first Chairman of General Insurance Council and first Secretary of General Insurance (Public Sector) Association. He had represented Indian Insurance Industry and presented various papers in National and International Conferences / Seminars and Workshops. He continues to be a member of the Board of Director of several companies including Agriculture Insurance Company of India since its inception. He has been a consultant to several government institutions for developing Universal Health Insurance plans and specializes in Micro Insurance.


He acts as a resource person to World Bank, IRDA, Government and Insurance Companies, both Public and Private.


Mr. Bhandari after his retirement from active service had conceptualized and promoted the School of Insurance Studies in 2002, which has become the premier institution providing formal education in Insurance in the country and the first institution to introduce Master of Science (Insurance) course for graduate engineers in Asia.

University of Ottawa, Canada. She has authored 3 International Books on Tribal Rights, Concerns for Environment and IPR. She teaches and researches in the area of Environmental Law, Jurisprudence, Service Law and Election Law. She has participated and presented papers in several International and National Conferences besides publications of Articles and Book Reviews in Journals. She is included in Marquis Who’s Who of the World 2012. She is Executive Director, Centre for Environmental Law and Policy.

Dr. Manmeeta is Associate Professor & Assistant Dean, Faculty of Science and  Director of  Collaborative (NLU & IMT) distance education programs . She has 10 years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience at university level. She has published various research papers in national and international journals of repute. She has participated and presented papers in 10 national seminars and 6 international seminars. She has coordinated 3 workshops and delivered lectures at various national seminars as resource person. She has worked in R & D project of Defence Research & Development Organization, DRDO. She has been awarded Sir Donald Field Gold Medal for academic achievements. She has guided one student for  M.Phil dissertation and one student for Ph.D. Two students are pursuing Ph.D. under her supervision. She specializes in Semiconductor Physics, Electronics and Communication & Digital Electronics, IP protection in IT & electronics, Information systems & management, nanotechnology etc. She is currently working on a major research project under Technology Development & Transfer Scheme of DST (Department of Science & Technology), Government of India. She has actively worked in various functional committees at the University since its inception.

Her basket of teaching also involves diverse subjects like Operational Research, Business Communication, Sales & Distribution Management, Business Communication, Business Environment, Strategic Management and Retail Management. She is a postgraduate in Chemistry and Management and has qualified the National Eligibility Test. In part time capacity he was associated with premier Institutions like IISW&BM Kolkata. On the areas like Financial Risk and Econometrics he is an international author and referee. His research works are also provided by IDEAS at the Economic Research Department of Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis apart from the international publishers like World Scientific Publishing - the publisher of the Nobel Prize Winner in Economics for 2001, Thomas A. Sargent. He is life member of prestigious academic bodies like Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and The Indian Econometric Society (TIES). At NLU he is Associate Professor in Faculty of Management Studies, Assistant Dean in Faculty of Policy Science, Additional Director of the Centre for Studies in Banking and Finance, Chairman of Sports Committee and Chief Proctor.

He has worked in CUTS International, Centre for Competition, Investment and Economic Regulation, Jaipur, India and was Lecturer in WBNUJS, Kolkata for 4 years. He has also practiced in Bankshall Court (CMM Court), Kolkata and worked as Branch Manager of Golden Trust Financial Services, Siliguri.

He has published Book “Proactive Agriculture Focussed Consumer Forum for farmers and agricultural workers”. He has published more than 30 articles in Madras Law Journal, Institute of Peace and Security Studies and Consolidated Commercial Digest on Competition Law,  Law of Infrastructure Development.

He has submitted PhD Thesis titled “Treatment of Cartels in India and US”. His subjects of teaching interest are Competition Law, Comparative Competition Law, Law of Infrastructure Development, Criminology, Penology, Victimology, Property Law.

Yogesh is trained as a lawyer with interdisciplinary research interests in technology, economics and policy.  He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with specialization in Intellectual Property Law from the School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology. His previous assignment was as an associate fellow at the Centre for Trade and Development (Centad), and as guest faculty in copyright law at the Indian Law Institute at New Delhi. In 2007 & 2008, Yogesh worked as a programme assistant and later as a consultant to the Innovation and Access to Knowledge Programme of the South Centre, Geneva, Switzerland. His teaching and general research interests are in the area of Intellectual Property Law, International Economic Law (specifically- WTO Law), International Intellectual Property law and policy (WTO-TRIPS and WIPO treaties/negotiations/RTAs); Comparative Competition law, economics and policy interface; Technology law; Innovation Policy and Access to Knowledge/Medicines. Yogesh is also interested in second generation reforms in Indian legal education. Yogesh has been consulted on different occasions by the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, WHO-India, CSIR-NISTADS, DIPP- Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of HRD. He has participated and/or presented in many national and international seminars, conferences and academic/non-academic deliberations. Yogesh has published in national and international journals.

Mr. Amit Singh is Assistant Professor of Law. He teaches Public International Law, International Trade/WTO Law and TRIPS/Intellectual Property Law both at UG and PG levels. He specializes in Public International Law, International Trade/WTO Law, Trade & Environment, Constitutional Law and Labour Laws. His academic interests lie in International Economic Law, International Environmental & Sustainable Development Law and Corporate Law & Governance. Prior to joining NLUJ, he has worked at esteemed Institutions in India viz. ISIL, IIPA, IILM Institute for Higher Education, ICRIER, MMTC/MoCI based in New Delhi/NCR in various Research and Consultancy positions. His qualifications are- B.Sc. (AU), LL.M. (LU), PGDLPM (LU), M.Phil. (JNU) and UGC NET in Law. He is pursuing his doctorate on the topic ‘International Legal Regime for Trade in Biotechnology Products: A Study of the Basic Issues’ from Centre for International Legal Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University [JNU], New Delhi. He completed the opening Summer Program on Public International Law during August-September 2006 at Xiamen Academy of International Law, Xiamen University, China. He represented the ICC India Campaign, Mumbai at the Advocacy Workshop on Ratification of the ICC Statute by Bangladesh organized by ODHIKAR on December 7, 2009 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has two research articles published in an International Journal and many articles in National Journals/Periodicals to his credit. He has participated in many National/International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops, and has made presentations on various topics. He has membership to various national and international organizations/bodies. He is Associate Member, Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. He is an Indian Member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law (CEL). He presented a paper titled 'Copyright Protection and Registration in India' in a Seminar on "Intellectual Property & Innovation Management in Knowledge Era (IPIM- 2011)" held on 27 December, 2011 jointly organised by National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), Dept. of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt of India and Vyas Engineering College for Girls (VECG) at Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He participated in the "Sustainability Solutions: Summit & Exhibition" organised by CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development held during 25-26 November 2011 at Hotel The Lalit, New Delhi. He delivered an invited Lecture on "Cyber Crime & Information Technology Law: An Overview" on 12 August, 2011 as part of the Training Programme for Dy. Superintendents of Police and Inspectors of Rajasthan Police organised by Rajasthan Police Training Centre (RPTC), Jodhpur.

Harisankar has been teaching Corporate Law and International Trade Law. Prior to joining NLU he was a member of the faculty at the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (C.G). He obtained his Masters degree from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi with specialisations in International Trade and Maritime Laws and has also qualified the National Eligibility Test [NET] for lectureship of the University Grants Commission. He is currently pursuing PhD degree from the Faculty of Law at NLU, Jodhpur. Recipient of The Hague Academy of International Law scholarship, he has attended the summer programme held at the Peace Palace, The Hague, in 2008. He was also selected for the summer programme scholarship by Xiamen Academy of International Law, China in 2009. He had represented the South Asia region in an International conference hosted by the Friedrich Neumann Stiftung (FNSt), held in Germany. He is a fellow with the ADR Centre of the Centre for Public Policy Research, a think tank based in Kochi. His research interests include International Arbitration and Conflict of Laws. He is Executive Director, Centre for Advanced Research and Training in Arbitration Law (CARTAL)

Presently she is pursuing her doctoral research in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions. Her doctorate work focuses on the legal aspects of Mergers and Acquisitions. Her other areas of interests are Financial Market Regulations, Cyber Law and Information Technology Law, Intellectual Property Rights (particularly Patent Law), TRIPS and International Trade. Ms Neeti Shikha holds a masters degree from University College London where she had the honour of pursuing her LLM under guidance of eminent professors such as Prof.DD Prentice, Prof Ellis Ferran, Prof Graham Penn & Dr Arad Resiberg. She was awarded distinction in her corporate modules during her study at University College London.  She has received a specialist training at Clifford Chance LLP London, in the area of Asset Finance, Securitization and Litigation. Before joining NLU Jodhpur, Neeti was teaching at Stansfield College Singapore which was catering to University of London Programmes, where she taught English Contract Law Company and Business Laws. Neeti has published her papers at various international and national journals such as Journal of World Trade and Investment Switzerland, Ankara Law Review Turkey, World Journal of Business Studies, in varied fields, ranging from competition laws, corporate laws and contract laws in journals. She also has two book chapters to her credit which has been published with McMillan International Publications and Universal Publications.  She has presented papers in several international conferences.  She has reviewed articles for Journal published by Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad. Dr Asha Bhandari is Asstt. Professor at the Faculty of Policy Sciences.  After completing a uniformly bright career and obtaining her Post Graduate Degree in Philosophy from Rajasthan University, Jaipur (1992), and Ph.D from Jai Narain Vyas University Jodhpur (2001) she has entered into the teaching profession in 2001.She also qualified NET(National Eligibility Test) examination. She did M.A. Sociology (2010) from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. She has published papers in academic journal and also presented various papers in national and international seminar. She has Co-edited two books entitled ‘Women’s Political participation in Indian Democratic System-Researching the Past and Designing the Future’, 2010, Authors Press, New Delhi and  ‘Women, Justice and the Rule of Law’, 2009,Serial Publication, New Delhi.Two national seminars  on women issues were organised by her in 2004 and 2007.Her area of interest are Gender Studies, Sociology and law, Applied Ethics and Legal Reasoning.

Dr. Om Prakash is Assistant Professor in the faculty of policy sciences of the university having more than 10 years of teaching experience. Currently he is also the Director of the Center for Human Welfare and Empowerment of the university. He teaches Legal and Constitutional History, Contemporary Indian History, Internationalism and World System and Contemporary World and Relation at the University. He has done his graduation and Masters from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and also holds a M. Phil degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Dr. Om Prakash having his UGC-NET in History has done his doctorate (Ph. D) from National Law University, Jodhpur. He has headed and worked diligently as a member of various functional committees at the University. He has published about 30 research papers and articles in national and international journals, conference proceedings, edited books etc. He has participated in 24 international and national conferences and organized 4 national and 2 international conferences. He is life fellow of Indian History Congress, Indian Social Science Congress and Punjab History Congress, Comparative Education Society of India and World Council of Education. He is also a visiting faculty to a number of institutions. He specializes in Legal and Constitutional History, Modern Indian History and Contemporary Indian History. His area of research includes Colonial and Post Colonial South Asia with focus on India and Pakistan.

She has been the proud recipient of Gold Medal, both in graduation and post graduation.  After clearing UGC-NET. , she was awarded her Ph.D from J.N.V.University, Jodhpur on the topic- ‘Influence of Role Stress, Coping Behaviour and Ego Strength on Mental Health Potentialities of Women working in Public and Private Sectors.’  Her extensive research work includes participation in many National and International conferences, presentation of research papers in the same , and delivering significant lectures of relevance in institutes of excellence. Her focus areas are- Clinical and Therapeutical Psychology, Social and Organizational Behaviour, Forensic Psychology and Criminal Behaviour.. She holds a teaching experience of 11 years. The focus area of her research is Assisted reproductive technology, Apoptosis and Anthology. She has chaired the session in two national seminars and has won the first prize for her paper presentations in two national seminars.  She has also been teaching IPR in the graduate and postgraduate classes.  She has conducted a national seminar on Technology Transfer.   She has been the course coordinator for various semesters and has been an active member in the administration of the university as a member of the Prospectus committee, library committee, mess committee, moot court committee etc.

Mr. H. ANSARI is a former Member (Non-Life) of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority, India.  He was also Chair Professor (General Insurance) of National Insurance Academy, Pune, India. He has also worked as Additional Director, Center for Insurance Studies, National Law University, Jodhpur. Prior to his appointment by the Government and subsequent Joining the Regulatory Authority in March 1999, Mr. Ansari was working as Director and General Manager of “Oriental” Insurance Company at its Corporate Office   in New Delhi.

During his two-year tenure with the Regulatory Authority, Mr. Ansari assisted in establishing an independent and transparent Regulatory mechanism in the Country and in preparing prudent Regulations, which paved the way for Opening up of the Insurance Sector in India. 

Mr. Ansari was associated with the Tariff Advisory Committee in various Capacities and was also on its Board. He was also a member of the Board of Education of the Insurance Institute of India.  Mr. Ansari is an accredited Trainer both in Direct Training Skills and Design of Training as specified by the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India.

He worked as General Manager In charge of Insurance and Reinsurance Technical Matters, General Insurance Corporation of India. While in service he was Managing Director of Loss Prevention Association of India. He was the first candidate from Indian Insurance Industry to be awarded the Munich Reinsurance Co. Ltd. ALOIS ALZHEIMER Scholarship to study Insurance and Reinsurance Technical at the Corporate Office of Munich Re. at Munich, Germany. As an extension of his scholarship he was sent by Munich Re. to Georgia State University, Atlanta USA for a visiting fellowship. He specializes in all aspects of marine insurance and associated with training of insurance executives all over the country and abroad. He is associated with our university as visiting faculty on marine insurance since 2003.

He was awarded a fellowship to complete his LLM and SJD at the University of Michigan, USA. He has extensively researched on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Human Rights. He is the Founder Director of NUALS. He has been the Director of Indian Law Institute, Delhi from 2004 to 2009. Prof. Lakshmi Jambholkar

Prof. Jambholkar is one of the most respected names in legal studies and research with more than 37 years of teaching experience and more than 40 years of research output. She has worked with renowned institutions such as University of Delhi, IIFT, ICADR as a  faculty member, conducting workshops and guiding research. She has also worked on research projects for NCW (NRI marriages) and Law Commission (Child Custody). She is now delivering extensive lectures all over India in prominent Law schools in the sphere of Private International Law and mediating in many ADR cases. She has the honorary membership of many eminent bodies like   Indian Society of International Law, Indian Law Institute, Indian Council of Arbitration, International Council of Consultants, National Legal Services Authority, Govt. Of India, Panel of Conciliators of International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Gender Advisory Group, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. of India, Law Commission of India. She is the Chief Editor of Indian Society of International Law Year Book of Humanitarian and Refugee Law ( 2001 – 2005 ); Editor, Indian Journal of International Law; and Member Editorial Board, Journal of International Council of Consultants. She has received accolades and rewards in the form of 20th Karnataka State Sammelan Award : Samman Patra in the recognition of her services in the area of legal studies, 2003 and Jewel of India Award, by International Business Council, 2004.

Prof. (Dr.) Maximilian Haedicke
   
 

Prof. Haedicke studied law in Munich, Geneva and Washington D.C. (LL.M. Georgetown 1995 as Fulbright-Scholar, New York Bar Exam 1995). In 1997 he prepared his doctoral thesis at the Max-Planck-Institute for Foreign and International Copyright, Patent and Competition Law in Munich on the subject of “Copyright and US International Trade Law and Policy”. 

He became assistant professor at Max-Planck-Institute for Foreign and International Copyright, Patent and Competition Law in Munich. He held the position of head of the U.S. department.  

Afterwards he worked for the international law firm with a specialisation on intellectual property and information technology law, especially in the area of patent litigation.

Since fall 2003 he is tenured professor at Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg where he holds a Chair for Intellectual Property and Competition Law. The publications of Maximilian Haedicke concern various issues of German, European and International Intellectual Property and Competition Law.

Mr. Stepanov Sergey
   
 

Stepanov Sergey (02-19-1955) – was born in Leningrad, in 1976 he graduated with distinction from Sverdlovsk Law Institute.

Since 1997 the director of the Independent noncommercial organization  Institute of private law. The scientific degree of the candidate of science (in jurisprudence) was conferred on him by the decision of dissertational council of the Ural state law academy in February, 18th, 2000 and confirmed by the Higher certifying commission of the Russian Federation in September, 22nd, 2000 (diploma KT No. 028183). The topic of the dissertation in Enterprise as a property complex under the Civil code of the Ressian Federation. Doctor's degree was conferred on Sergey Stepanov by the decision of dissertational council of the Ural state law academy in December, 24th, 2004 and confirmed by the Higher certifying commission of the Russian Federation in June, 17th, 2005 (the recreation center diploma No. 026450). The topic of the dissertation is System of objects of real estate in civil law: theoretical problems. Was given the academic status of the professor of civil law by the Order of Federal Agency of supervision in the sphere of education and science in December, 17th, 2008 r No. 2188/434-p (series PR No. 005415). The experience of scientific and pedagogical work is 12 years, including 10 years experience of pedagogical work in higher educational institutions. Professor has 36 publications, 21 of them (educational-methodical and scientific) are used in student teaching.
