The prime vision of CWS pertains to develop itself into an institution of excellence in WTO studies developing necessary administrative practices and suggesting the changes needed in the domestic law and the strategies which the country should adopt in negotiating various issues arising under WTO agreements. The Center vigorously undertakes research regarding international trade laws, multilateral trade negotiations and comparative trade policies of major trading nations with a special emphasis on the wider participation of the country in global trade participation.
The centre has manifold objectives such as to study the impact of WTO agreements on developing countries with particular reference to India, to conduct seminars and workshops on WTO related issues and to develop better investment opportunities in furtherance of WTO agreements. The Centre for WTO Studies along with Distance Learning Centre for the University also conducts three years Masters' Courses in Trade Related Laws and WTO.
