Center for Insurance Studies and Research (CISR) was set up recognizing the important catalytic role the Insurance sector plays in the economy of the country. The centre caters to managerial requirements of upcoming insurance companies and its ever-developing intermediary channels. The centre carries out research and consultancy in specific areas of insurance and reinsurance. The centre also provides training, orientation and refresher courses to both new and existing managers of insurance industry of both Private and Public sectors in insurance management. CISR conducts an innovative Post Graduate Course - MBA (Insurance) spread over Five Semesters. Health Insurance Project for Government of Goa is the latest project the Center has completed. The Centre has received an endowment of Rs. 40 lacs from New India Assurance Company Ltd. followed by Rs. 35 lacs by General Insurance Corporation of India to establish chairs on Insurance and Reinsurance.
