Centre for Human Rights Education Research and Studies (CHEARS) was the first innovative endeavour of Centre for Research established in the University. The Centre aims at development of liasoning with various Non-Governmental Organisations working at grassroots level on issues of concern in human rights education, training and research namely Gender, Health, Property and Social action. By virtue of the networking with the institutions established with Amnesty International, Global Rights, BSF; and, International NGOs like UNDP and UNFPA, the Centre has organized a number of workshops, training programs, seminars; and State level and National level legal consultations. The Centre has also undertaken publication of reading materials meant for specific cross sections of the society like Advocates in relation to gender and law. The Centre is currently involved in establishing long-term initiatives with support partners and is  working on the organization of national seminars and importantly, developing working and policy papers.
