Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law (CCCL)
As the global financial market and business activity has undergone a paradigm shift, laws relating to corporate and commerce has acquired special attention of academicians and practitioners. As market dynamics are changing considerably and there is a need to continuously access and develop the role of law and its effectiveness.
The purpose of the Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law is to promote research on topics that fall within its broad remit. Considering that corporate and commercial law is one of the prime focuses of the law schools in India and elsewhere, the centre aims to emerge as a pioneer in research and development in the aforesaid area.
The work of the Centre aims to explore the socio-economic, political and theoretical importance of corporate and commercial law. A principal aim is to bring coherence and theoretical direction to a subject traditionally viewed as merely an amorphous category or convenient umbrella term. It intends to bridge the gap between academic law and its practical application. This centre aims to capture development of laws, the policy change, the legal debate on the changing trend of market and its regulatory framework.
The centre will provide the faculties as well as students interested in the area of corporate and business laws to grow within this umbrella and independently emerge as researchers in the aforesaid field. As the centre intends to collaborate with leading universities and research groups across the globe, it will provide the faculties as well as students of NLU Jodhpur a favourable research environment to further their interest in the field and will give them a platform to grow. This will contribute to growth and success of the University in general and centre in particular.
